Dr. P. K. Upadhyay

About Me

I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2011. I joined IIT Indore as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering in May 2012, where I became Associate Professor in December 2017 and a full Professor in February 2022. I was a Visiting Professor at the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC), University of Oulu, Finland during May-August 2022 under Nokia Foundation Fellowship.

My research interests are in the area of wireless communication theory and systems. I'm leading a Wireless Communication (WiCom) Research Group at IIT Indore, which is actively involved in cutting-edge research and development to cater to the emerging needs of the next generation wireless communication systems.

I am currently serving as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Communications Letters. I served as a Guest Editor of the Special Issue on “Energy-Harvesting Cognitive Radio Networks” in IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications & Networking in 2018, and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access during Jan. 2018- Jan. 2022. I am also involved in the Technical Program Committee of several IEEE conferences.

I have received the Exemplary Editor Award, IEEE Communications Letters, 2021. I have been awarded the Sir Visvesvaraya Young Faculty Research Fellowship by Digital India Corporation, MeitY, 2018-2023. I was conferred with IETE-Prof SVC Aiya Memorial Award, 2018. I have co-authored a paper that received the Best Paper Award in the International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet), Morocco, 2018.

I'm a Fellow of the IETE, Fellow of the IE (I), and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
